James M. O'Donnell
CPIM, CIRM
Jim has found that there is a commonality across industries and companies in the challenges that negatively impact the success of their MRPII and ERP operations. A few of the key factors are Data Integrity, Synchronized Execution, Change Management, and also Process and System Knowledge which together impact critical thinking in problem solving within material management groups. In addition to these factors and even when problems are known, there is often a failure to implement corrective actions. In these cases, there are open communications about issues but either due to a lack of expertise, human resources, consensus, or budget constraints problems go uncorrected and quality and efficiencies suffer. This is the example of we talk about it but we don’t fix it. Instead, companies try to live with the mistakes, loss of productivity, and negative impacts to operating costs and customer expectations.
Jim is a driven, versatile and results-oriented professional with extensive experience managing supply chain operations and logistics within highly complex production and manufacturing environments. Jim has a proven ability to design and implement process improvements that optimize business performance and operational efficiency. He has a keen eye for detail and an ability to devise innovative methods for reducing costs and avoid unnecessary expenditures. Jim has exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills, and he excels in demanding, fast-paced settings.
Jim has gained extensive expertise and experience in Supply Chain Management, Production Planning and Inventory Management while working in Defense Electronics, Industrial Electrical Parts and Equipment, Cosmetics, Pharmaceutical, Bio-Pharma, and Consumer Goods companies spanning mid-size to large corporations. He has worked in Job Shops, Cell Manufacturing, Flow Production, Total Quality Management; Lean Six Sigma, Push Pull Operations, KANBAN environments. He has worked with both Union and Non-Union work forces. Jim has experience with the implementation and maintenance of various MRPII and ERP business solutions, such as SAP, JD Edwards, MAPICS, Navision, Oracle, and more.
